Camp weeks and themes
are as follows:
Week 1: "Tornado
Tumbling Camp" June
28-July 2
This is a Fun-Moving camp that involves
"LOTS" of twisting and turning! Gymnasts
will learn how to twist their bodies from the basic
180 degrees (1/2 turn), to the more difficult 360
degrees (1/1 turn) and the challenging 540 (1 1/2
turn), or the exciting 720 degrees (2 full turns)!
Week 2: "Bionic Bars
Camp" July 5-9
Bars, Bars, Bars &
more Bars...! This camp is designed to turn your
biceps, triceps and the rest of your body into
"Bionic Muscles"! We do this with FUN
skills that kids love to do over and over! The more
bars you do, the stronger you get!!!
Week 3: "Freeway Beam
Camp" July 12-16
Low beams will be intertwined with other gymnastic
equipment to make this camp FUN & CHALLENGING!
"Freeway Beam Camp" is designed to improve
balance and coordination while learning to fall
safely. Students will improve confidence while
walking tall over and under GYMagine beams and
equipment!
Week 4: "Victory
Vaulting Camp" July
19-23
This camp is designed to keep the students jumping
and leaping all over the gym! They will learn to
vault victoriously over almost everything in the gym
-- including each other!
Week 5: "Take-off
Tumble Trak Camp" July
26-30
Students imagine being
a plane cleared for TAKE-OFF! They will roar down
the runway and leap into the air taking flight! Then
gravity calls them back to Earth into our LARGE,
SOFT foam pit! Most of the focus of this class is on
safe take-offs and safe landings on all of the
gymnastic events.
Week 6: "Thunder
Trampoline" August
2-6
With lightning fast jumps and gymnasts jumping so
high that with each landing they will create THUNDER
sounds that will echo all over the gym! Thunder Camp
is designed to be LOUD, fast paced and fun without
the rain!
Week 7: "Obstacle
Course Camp" August
9-13
Over, under, around and upside down is this week's
theme. Students will be challenged to navigate
fitness courses that are changed daily. Each
gymnastics event will have courses set up for fun
games and contests!
Week 8: "One Hundred
Handstands Camp" August
16-20
One hundred what?! Hold on to your stomachs! Each
gymnast will perform one hundred handstands or more
during this fun packed week. Students will enjoy
doing handstands climbing, tucked, upside down,
sideways, hanging, goofy and walking all over our
gym floor, trampolines and beams.
Week 9: "Dance Routine
Camp" August 23-27
This camp is designed to teach every gymnast a
fitness Dance Routine! The routine will have some
fun, hip-hop dance, basic gymnastics, calisthenics
and a couple wiggles and turns!
